About Doc And This Website
I was the original Tampa Bay Area eBay Car Seller – and was in the auto repair business at the time. I bought this old Mercedes 300sd Turbo Diesel from a dealer friend of mine. I fixed the air on it and gave it a good clean up. I then put it in the local Auto Trader magazine – after 2 weeks and no offers a friend suggested eBay.
I borrowed a digital camera from a friend and listed it on eBay – Soon the questions came rolling into my email and the car brought about DOUBLE what i was asking in the Auto Trader Magazine!
When the word got around about what it sold for – lots of dealer friends wanted me to list cars for them.. So a new career was born..

Things went pretty well back then – and i cherry picked the cars my associates wanted to sell – it was my eBay reputation on the line and i believed in the principle eBay was founded on – and every vehicle i listed reflected that trust. I said back then that eBay brought honor to the car business!

Then came the new eBay Motors site. And what a mess it was in the beginning – eBay actually opened the new site under it’s new ebaymotors.com domain and left auctions running on the core site with no way to access them.
They flooded the site with dealerships listings – and used listing specialists to solicit the dealerships. One such outfit was auction 123 – a so called “eBay motors trained listing specialist. They quickly racked up the negs for vehicle not as described – and even worse – the car was already sold when the auction winner came to get it.
I once spoke to the owner who told me – we don’t care if it sells – all we want is the listing fee! I thought that really sucked – why not train these dealers how to do eBay the right way? But the oh mighty buck took precedence over trust and good will!

Things went down hill around 2003 when the scam listings started – and just about every deadbeat found a use for that free AOL disk that came in the mail. The eBay Motors market place started getting a really bad reputation!
Emails to eBay support did no good – all eBay was interested in was collecting fees – their support really sucked – and sent back a canned response that most of the time had nothing to do with the question being asked.
Meanwhile i continued on with listings and trying to make the best of it. There were non paying bidders – sport bidders bidding just for the fun of it – buy now bandits that would hit thousands of listings and then try the old Nigerian counterfeit cashiers check scam.
I knew this one was a fake – but decided to deposit it into my account so when it bounced it would be a “certified bum check” It later sold for 16.00 on eBay.. Go figure!

Then the crap hit the fan! I had this old 1989 Lincoln Town Car listed for an associate – a really nice old car with 44,000 1 owner miles. An old retiree who had to have one last new car had traded it on a new car – and had kept it garaged and didn’t drive it much. It was the closest thing to showroom new i had seen in several years.
I had another eBay account i listed old cars under – some buyers had became savvy and knew they could extort money from sellers by nit picking minor issues – and asking for compensation. So i listed this one under that account.

I had a prospective buyer call and we negotiated a buy now price – i went into the listing and attempted to add the buy now – I never tried to steer the buyer off of eBay and always did my business within eBay policy.
Well wouldn’t you know while i was adding that buy now – eBay thought someone hijacked my account and ended the listing – one minute it was there – then poof – it was gone!

Well wouldn’t you know this crap happened on my birthday. I got so upset over it i burst a vein in my leg and almost had to go to the hospital. I really lost my temper over it and emailed support and copied Meg & Bill Cobb and gave them my thoughts about how sorry they handled the situation – this was Cobb’s reply.

Bill Cobb just suspended my account’s the next day!

They said i was Abusing eBay.. Talk about thin skin!
Bill Cobb has no clue on how to handle an upset customer. I felt like a sack of garbage that was tossed into a dumpster. But that’s it – with just 1 click of a mouse you are eBay history!
eBay was so big they didn’t need an honest trust worthy seller like me..

Meanwhile i did deliver the Town Car – my buyer purchased it anyway – and was very pleased with his purchase. It was a truly rewarding experience for both of us, I am standing on the right.

I was trying to look at your screen shot pages of listings. They show for about 2 seconds and then condense so small I cant read them. The reason I was interested is that last Thursday, I believe, there were over 50,00 pages of items in clothing and most had nothing on them. Someone descrbide them as “invisible listings” on a forum thread. I checked an they were right about the pages and most showed nothing. Later that evening there were 103,851 pages in the same condition and alittle later back to @50,000. I got one somewhat of a screen shot when it was 103,581 but don’t know the significance of it. I spoke to live chat about it. They had no explanation and haven’t answered me about it yet. Do you have a theory for these strange occurances?
Your browsers default settings reduces the images width due to the length, the longer the image the narrower it will be when fully loaded.
To view any long raw image, wait for it to fully load, then left click on the lower right corner of it. (IE6) Mozilla Firefox click anywhere on the image to expand it’s width. I believe AOL uses IE as well. Should be similar for other browsers.

I will be happy to post my history in your website Doc Ebay truncated my dream to buy and sell on Ebay before i can grow to a power seller. Since 2005 i accumulated documents that proofs Ebay is violating US and International Privacy rights according to http://www.privacyinternational.org and truste.org leaving a big hole for a “massive class action suit” for suspended members.
After i purchased a junk laptop for around $300.xx S&H included US dollars from a Canadian seller that later refused to compensate me or accept me a return i decided to file a complaint both Ebay and Paypal. I wasn’t able to use, fix or resell this junk (i was suspended by that time) but before 30 days i contacted my local bank filing a complaint as recommended in my local bank 30 days later i received my money back all intact… Later for more than 6 months later Trust and Safety Department comes to a resolution I owe now to Ebay $300 US dollars so i decided to keep laptop in order to pay later those fees. Anyway how can you pay two times for an item that is trash???? Ebay wants to force me to pay but this never happens until later… After 1-2 years I created a second account on ebay an account where I sold that same laptop for 180.XX USD but Ebay also suspended this 2nd account linked to the first they said. Ebay in a friendly move drop my fees from $300 to $120 then it was time to pay… so i paid $120 but the only way was using a check by email, my paypal was blocked, my credit card was blocked also, etc. Then what do you think it will happen? My account with balance 7+ 100% (for the second time) drop to zero fees finally… After this incident they refused to unblock my account and i got the same similar message as you did:

This is a buyers side of the history the consequenses are always the same get suspended and blocked from Ebay for life this is the way they wash their hands about fraud. Anyway now i want my personal data, bank, credit cards, addresses, etc out of Ebay servers as you know they keep you as a “member” unable to delete your account in order to avoid a new registration of this banned members a trick can be used against them in a class action suit… yes! finally a solution. They’re in clear violation of your privacy rights when they commit data retention of your personal details after your are not a “member” anymore Blocked and Suspended this is a THEFT from Ebay it’s illegal they know it and now we know it…
